Endocrine treatment of breast cancer modulates HER-family members and NRG1. EGFR/HER-1 and NRG1 increase during AI therapy in HER-2/neu non-amplified tumors. EGFR/HER-1 and NRG1 increase mostly from two weeks to three months on AI therapy. The rise in EGFR/HER-1 and NRG1 reflects a molecular response to AI treatment.
