Sonochemical synthesis, characterization, antimicrobial activity and textile dyeing behavior of nano-sized cobalt(III) complexes

Sonochemical method was used to synthesize nanoparticles of cobalt(III) coordination complexes. The comparative thermal stability of nanoparticles and their respective bulks has been studied. The nanoparticles were studied using IR, NMR, UV–Vis., SEM, TEM, Zeta-sizer and XRD techniques. The cobalt(III) nanoparticles show better antimicrobial activity than their respective bulks. The dyeing behavior of all the Co(III) complexes on cotton and wool fabrics was studied.
