The bacteria had high adsorption capacity of Eu3 + (achieves as high as 160 mg/g). The adsorbed Eu3 + could be desorbed by HCl or EDTA solution. The bacteria could be an excellent biosorbent for extraction and recovery of low concentrations of Eu3 +.
