The deformation and failure modes of metro tunnel caused by active ground fissures are identified. Possible damages to metro tunnel due to active ground fissures are analyzed. The minimum safe avoidance distance of metro tunnel from ground fissure is provided. The longitudinal fortification length of metro tunnel is given against ground fissure. The countermeasures are given for metro tunnel against active ground fissure.
