Isolation and characterization of Listeria monocytogenes in Chinese food obtained from the central area of China

The prevalence characteristics of L. monocytogenes (2.3% positive) were analyzed. MLST indicated broad genetic diversity, and the predominant subtypes varied. The isolates showed enhanced resistance to several commonly used antibiotics. Most virulence genes were highly prevalent in the isolates.
