Coking characteristics and deactivation mechanism of HZSM-5 were discussed in detail. Structure of HZSM-5 was intact while physiochemical properties were worse with time. Compositions of precursors in the pore were partly different from that on the surface. Deactivation of HZSM-5 begin from inner, high molecular substances blocked pores.
