First ever study of ZnS-CoS microcomposite as counter electrode in dye-sensitized solar cells.

ZnS-CoS microcomposite shows remarkably enhanced electrocatalytic activity compared with pristine ZnS.

Dependence of device efficiency on Co/Zn molar ratio is investigated.

The best performing ZnS-CoS counter electrode (6.11%) enhances the device efficiency by over 10 times compared with pristine ZnS electrodes.
