Twelve new chalcone-isoflavonoid dimers were isolated from the roots of Campylotropis hirtella. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by NMR analysis, while the absolute configurations were determined from the CD spectra. We measured immunosuppressive activities of these compounds on splenic lymphocytes and found that many of the compounds displayed immunosuppressive activities. Compound 8 was the most active, with IC50 values of 3.68 μM for T lymphocyte suppression and 1.79 μM for B lymphocyte suppression.
