A dual pore-system fluid flow model is developed based on CT images, and preferential flow pathways are visualised. CT resolution limitations lead to overlooking micro-pore networks in ore heaps. A dual pore-system (of macro- and micro-pores) model is proposed for certain cases and compared with acknowledged models. A design of idealised dual pore-system is conducted to address the importance of micro-pore networks.
