Photocatalysts with highly dispersed CeO2 on TiO2 were prepared by a one-pot hydrothermal method.

Unlike m-CO32−, b-CO32− and b-HCO3 could readily be transformed to CO2 under photoirradiation.

CeO2-tuned CO2 adsorption is a key factor for the increased activity of CeO2/TiO2 in CO2 reduction.
