The latter has been available only since 2015, and there are no previous reports using both tests for pleural fluid samples. Therefore, this is the first case report using both tests for extrapulmonary samples. Paradoxical results were found between both tests, which makes this case interesting. The report could contribute increased awareness of the limitations of these assays when used to test extrapulmonary samples.
