Weldability of super duplex stainless steel by Nd: YAG laser is attempted. Processing window for achieving full penetration is developed. Effect on varied welding speed on ferrite concentration in as weld is presented. Ferrite: austenite ratio improves after post weld heat treatment. Mechanical strength of as weld and PWHT laser welded joints is detailed.
