Development of EST-SSR markers and analysis of genetic diversity in natural populations of endemic and endangered plant Phoebe chekiangensis

In this study, a total of 22,985 SSR loci were identified based on transcriptome sequencing data, of which forty-one polymorphic markers were chosen to analyze the genetic diversity of seven natural populations.

The parameters including Nei genetic diversity, genetic distance, genetic variation and the gene flow (the Nm value) were valued.

The correlations between genetic distance and geographic distance, temperature, precipitation difference were also analyzed.

Furthermore, the conservation strategies were suggested with the aim to protect this endangered species, Phoebe chekiangensis.
