Oscillatory airflow from outside to inside appears at upper vents without pant effect. The average air velocity at upper vents declines along the tunnel length. Airflow will be rapidly embroiled and mixed with air in tunnel to dilute pollutants. The number of upper vents does not dramatically affect the air intake. It is improper to crudely regard the flow field in a road tunnel as a pipe flow.
