An amphiphilic perylenetetracarboxylic diimide derivative (APDI) is synthesized. A novel LBL approach is developed to get the highly ordered APDI/CdS hybrid film. CdS is incorporated into APDI matrix via H2S-vapor annealing over APDI/Cd2+ layer. Energy transfer from CdS to APDI has been revealed in the unique hybrid film.
