Water productivity was significantly improved by use of AWD15 and AWD30.

CH4 emission under AWD15 and AWD30 was 30% and 60% lower than FP.

Grain yields under AWD15 and AWD30 were comparable with farmer’s practice.

AWD15 could be used for water-saving and CH4 emission mitigation in south China.
