A novel fluorescent nanosensor was developed for dual detection and quantification of chromium(VI) and hydrogen sulfide based on silicon nanoparticles via inner filter effect.

The proposed nanosensor had several advantages, such as low cost, ease of operation, low detection limit, high sensitivity and selectivity.

The nanosensor was successfully applied in the determination of chromium(VI) and hydrogen sulfide in real sample.
