An electrochemical gas sensor was fabricated with porous polytetrafluoroethylene as the substrate and room temperature ionic liquid as the electrolyte. A new transient double potential amperometry was explored to decrease measurement time and reverse reaction by-products. The sensor was validated to present good sensitivity, high linearity and good repeatability with the new method.
