The 2NN MEAM potential of Cu–Pd were developed, which can be used to describe the fundamental physical properties of Cu–Pd alloys.

The Cu/Pd bilayer films were prepared by depositing either the Pd on Cu (1 1 1) substrates or the Cu on Pd (1 1 1) substrates.

The twin structures and stacking faults were observed in the deposited bilayer films, in accordance with experimental results.

The incident energy was found to affect quality of the growth twins.
