Computational and experimental investigation into mechanical performances of Poly-L-Lactide Acid (PLLA) coronary stents

Constitutive constants of PLLA were determined by tests and applied in FE modeling. Prediction of the stent’s mechanical deformation was verified by in-vitro experiments. The optimized local structure decreased the strain accumulation of the PLLA stent. The mechanical behaviors of PLLA stent were proven comparable with commercial stents.
