Highly siliceous and aluminosilicate zeolites (MFI, MTN, SOD) were synthesized ionothermally.
Several tetraalkylammonium salt/alcohol based deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were employed in the syntheses.
Different DESs involving various organic SDAs and mineralizing agents yielded zeolites of different topologies.
The morphology, local T-site environment and crystallinity of a given zeolite may be controlled by judicious choice of DES.
The approach described in this work has the potential to produce unique zeolites with new framework topologies.
