We carry out experimental studies of second harmonic 膶erenkov radiation in the bulk birefringent quadratic medium without any quadratic modulation. We give a detailed investigation on the phase matching condition of frequency conversion process and the spatial distribution of 膶erenkov patterns. We analyze the intensity dependence of the emitted 膶erenkov waves on the polarization and wavelengths of the incident fundamental wave. We show that the experimental results closely follow the theoretical predictions.
