A method for the derivation of temporally continuous LAI reference maps is proposed. The wireless sensor network technology and a data blending approach are combined in the method. The reconstructed LAI reference maps correlate very well with the original LAI reference maps. It contributes to the assessment of temporal dynamics of uncertainty in LAI products.
