This letter proposes a partitioned systolic array for MSB-first approach multiplication in GF(2^m). When compared to the related multiplier presented by Wang, the proposed systolic array requires a significantly smaller number of basic cells. It requires only m/2 basic cells and exhibits the same latency when it has two bands.
