Y-doped CeO2 with a hollow sphere hierarchical structure was successfully fabricated for the first time. Y-doped CeO2 with a hollow sphere structure possess high photocatalytic activity. Oxygen vacancy and surface active oxygen have obviously influence on catalytic activity of products.
