The extruded alloy consists of 〈View the MathML source〉 fiber, {View the MathML source}[0001] and {View the MathML source}〈View the MathML source〉 texture components.

The texture evolves from [0001] to 〈View the MathML source〉 in tension, but reversely in compression.

The texture vibration is due to the tensile twinning and non-basal 〈a〉 type slip.

The LPSO and Mg5(Gd, Y, Nd) phases retard the texture evolution.

The fine grains, Mg5(Gd, Y, Nd) and LPSO phases, and texture strengthen the alloy.
