Ultrathin NiCo layered double hydroxide nanosheets were arrayed on carbon cloth. Their three-dimensional structure favors mass transport and electron transfer. They show a remarkable activity for glucose oxidation. They can be used as a bind-free biosensor in nonenzymatic glucose detection. This amperometric sensing exhibits a high sensitivity and selectivity.
