The tensile properties of carbon-aramid hybrid 3D braided composites are investigated by mechanical and optical methods. The braided architecture and co-braided hybrid structure have an effect on the tensile response and strain distribution. The compromise optimization of strength and toughness can be achieved by carbon-aramid hybrid composites.
