Phenolic moiety was the reactive site for sulfate radical attack.

Pathways include β-scission, oxidation, debromination and coupling reactions.

Brominated disinfection by-products were found during TBBPA degradation.

Humic acid inhibited TBBPA degradation but promoted DBPs formation.
