Photodegradation of methylene blue by photocatalyst of D-A-D type polymer/functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes composite under visible-light irradiation
EDOT unit functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (f-MWCNT) was highly dispersible in CHCl3 to form a stable colloidal suspension. f-MWCNT was covalently linked with poly(EPE) chains, in which EPE is D-A-D type monomer with pyridazine intermediate unit. Poly(EPE)/f-MWCNT composite can be regarded as a promising photodegradation material for water purification under visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic rate of MB was 88% after 180 min by poly(EPE)/f-MWCNT composite.
