Nobiletin, a citrus flavonoid, facilitates glucose-induced insulin secretion. Nobiletin inhibits ER stress-induced β-cell apoptosis. Nobiletin increases intracellular cAMP level in β-cells. The insulinotropic effect of nobiletin is mediated by EPAC. The anti-apoptotic effect of nobiletin is mediated by protein kinase A.
