In this paper we present the design proposal, fabrication procedure as well as the numerical simulation of a new type of device which is capable of converting an incoming electrical field into a radially polarized field. The device consists from a tapered optical fiber while on top of its external surface, dielectric nanorods are radially disposed. The tails of the propagating optical mode are interacting with the radially disposed nanorods. This interaction enhances the generated radially polarized field which propagates along the optical fiber.
