Wind tunnel testing for umbrella-type rotor model is conducted. Umbrella-type rotor regulates both power output and wind thrust. Constant power output in increasing wind speed is realized by the tested rotor model. An improved blade element momentum computation model is developed for umbrella-type rotor. Power coefficient adjustment sensitivity declines with the increase of fold angle.
