Copper ions were detected using polydihydroxyphenylalanine nanoparticle (PDNP) as a fluorescent probe.
The preparation of the fluorescent PDNP is facile.
No further post-modification of the PDNP is required for Cu2+ sensing.
This detection method is easy to implement, low cost, and sensitive.
