It is proved that the si1" class="mathmlsrc">si1.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0893965916302518&_rdoc=1&_issn=08939659&md5=a40b90707f8b6b145a4469e72971940f" title="Click to view the MathML source">(2+1)-dimensional KdV equation is CRE solvable. Furthermore, soliton, cnoidal wave and soliton–cnoidal wave interaction solutions are obtained explicitly from different special solutions of the modified Schwarzian equation.
