The Woronin bodies were absent when the gene AoHex was knocked out in A. oligospora. Disruption of the AoHex gene led to a significant reduction in conidiation. The Woronin body plays a role in stress resistance. A. oligospora without Woronin body CAN NOT form traps and capture nematodes.
