Ultrathin ZnO layer are coated onto Li1.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13O2 by ALD technology. The coated samples were annealed in Ar to introduce the defects in ZnO layer. The LMNCO@ZnO-20 electrode delivers excellent cycleability and rate capability. The improved performance results from the enhanced conductivity and Li+ diffusion coefficient.
