SmLTL transcription was significantly elevated following exposure to higher temperatures.

Following exposure to the ciliate Philasterides dicentrarchi, expression increased significantly in skin, gill and intestine.

SmLTL could selectively bind to several bacterial species including Edwardsiella tarda and Vibrio anguillarum.

SmLTL exhibited toxicity towards P. dicentrarchiand reduced its survival.

we investigated the binding of FITC-labelled SmLTL to ciliates in solution.
