We theoretically investigate the features of two-photon absorption in a four-level inverted-Y quantum well system. We find that not only the strengths of applied laser fields but also the total closed interaction phase can affect the two-photon absorption dramatically, which can be used to suppress or enhance two-photon absorption. More importantly, the double electromagnetically induced two-photon transparency can be achieved in this system. Thus, it may provide some new possibilities for technological applications in the two-photon lasing, the pulse propagation, and the two-photon entanglement in solid-state quantum information processing.
