The severity of major gas explosion accidents is significant compared to that of other types of coal mine accidents. This study focuses on study of unsafe behaviors of front-line miners.
The analysis results show that unsafe behaviors existed in and had precipitated influence to all gas explosion accidents, and clearly analyze the specific unsafe behavior and improve it to prevent gas explosion effectively.
All identified unsafe behaviors can be analyzed from 3 dimensions: accident site, working craft and equipment and installation.
This information adds to available evidence on effectiveness of behavioral safety and can help to select and define priorities on targets and measures or programmes aimed to prevent gas explosion.
