An experimental investigation of two-degrees-of-freedom VIV trajectories of a cylinder at different scales was done.

The cylinders with different L/D values have different motion trajectories.

When the cylinder's aspect ratio is relatively small, only the figure 8 form was observed in the presented results.

The natural vibration frequency ratio, absolute value of the natural vibration frequency, the mass ratio and model scales also play an important part in the vibration trajectory.
