A comparative evaluation of the metal concentrations was carried out in the tropical estuary, as the metals play a vital role in biogeochemistry and could be detrimental to associated biota.
Bioavailability in sediments was compared to the bioaccumulation in molluscs.
Bio Sediment Accumulation Factors (BSAF's) and Metal Pollution Index (MPI) computed revealed higher metal bioaccumulation in gastropods than bivalves.
