This study describes the role of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) as a novel growth stimulating agent. Addition of bioengineered ZnONPs with P supplementation increased biomass, photosynthetic pigments and proteins. ZnONPs augmentation led to the decreased level of MDA, indicating dilution of membrane peroxidation activity. Zinc nanomaterials exhibiting its protective role against oxidative damage by increase of SOD and POX activity.
