New biocompatible and cost effective hybrid material was characterized. CMC-g-PMAA/hydroxyapatite hybrid was reported as dye adsorbent. The adsorption capacity of the hybrid for MB removal is 671 mg/g. MB adsorption mechanism onto CMC-g-PMAA/hydroxyapatite was studied.
