The diverse chemistry of organometallic complexes of Group 6 metals, containing the [M(CO)2(η3-allyl)] fragment, is reviewed. Complexes containing the η5-cyclopentadienyl ligand are explored. Complexes containing bidentate nitrogen and phosphorus ligands, along with monodentate anionic ligands are discussed. Such complexes containing α-diimine ligands have unique electrochemical properties and applications in CO2 electrocatalysis. A treatment of the amidinate complexes with neutral monodentate ligands is presented.
