Androstadienone (AND) is a component of human sweat that may act as a social signal. Passively inhaling minute levels of AND altered brain activity during image viewing. AND enhanced prefrontal and orbitofrontal responses to emotional images. Dynamic causal models suggest changes were due to modified amygdala connectivity.
