Electrochemical behavior of 3-Fluorocatechol, 3FQH2, is studied.

Electrooxidation products of tetrafluoro-p-hydroquinone, TFQH2, and 3FQH2 are stable.

TFQH2 and 3FQH2 are proposed for fabrication of hybrid redox flow batteries, HRFBs.

The columbic efficiency of a HRFB including TFQH2 is higher than that of one including 3FQH2.
