The auditory cortical oscillatory activity is disrupted in untreated schizophrenia. This disruption is detectable in the 30–50 Hz and 90–100 Hz ranges. The disruption in the 30–50 Hz range is not present in the patients treated with atypical antipsychotic drugs.
