The effect of 8% arginine toothpaste on the oral microbiome was studied. Use of 8% arginine toothpaste increased the arginolytic capacity of the microbiome. Use of 8% arginine toothpaste decreased the lactate production of the microbiome. Veillonella became more abundant in saliva during 8% arginine toothpaste use.
