The Family Assessment Device (FAD) was translated and adapted for the German language. The subscales of the FAD have satisfying convergent, divergent and discriminative validity. In samples of adults and older adolescents most subscales are sufficiently reliable. Particularly the General Functioning scale shows excellent psychometric properties.
